Inspired by vintage traditional Japanese hanten jackets, these longer versions are made of silk noil. The fabric has more weight to it that the normal light airy style kimono jackets you may see around, yet they still feel soft and luxurious. Side pockets and silk piping interior for a polished and clean look, and hand sewn locally here in Yyc. We strive to create one of a kind garments ethically made and lovingly hand dyed.
Eco printed with Agonis and peony leaves, then bundle dyed with flowers that were considered waste. Lastly, dip dyed in a vat of avocado pit (given to me by our friends at Bridgeland Market who makes guacamole every week :). Deeper hues of purple and greys were created by adding iron to the dye vat.
Care: Its easy to care for garments made of natural fibres! And no, you don't need to dry clean them. Natural fibers help your skin and body breathe, and they feel great on your skin. So if and when you do need to wash, you can wash them on a gentle cycle in the machine or if you're concerned, handwash with a mild detergent and hang to dry. Low iron with some steam is a must. The colour and prints are so much more prominent and crisp. Just don't throw it in the dryer. Think about the money you'll save on energy, and how proud you will feel by participating in the slow living movement. :)
